2013 Workshops, batizado, and troca de cordas

What: A Batizado and Troca de Cordas is an important, once a year event that all capoeira students participate in. The Batizado is a ceremony traditional to capoeira during which new students receive a capoeira nickname, play with an advanced belt from another location, and are officially welcomed into the group. Even for beginners that have been training for close to a year, this is the official "initiation" into our capoeira family.
The Troca de Cordas is a belt ceremony (literally, the "changing of cords") during which current students who are ready to move to a new level may receive a belt promotion.
The capoeira workshops leading up to this exciting event are an important opportunity to train under the high quality instruction of our group's Mestre, Mestre Preguica. Workshops are important not only for the development of one's capoeira skills, but also allow students to come together with visiting students.
